Herbs For Pregnancy Loss- Stillbirth Healing (3/3)

When we experience trauma, our emotional state may be knocked out of balance.

Herbs- as well as having many physical benefits- can also help our body cope with stress. Herbal support can:

  • help improve our neurological function (e.g. dandelion flowers are a great source of lecithin- lecithin raises the brain's acetylcholine)

  • help move stuck emotions

  • help relieve anxiety, grief, panic attacks, and mild depression

  • promote relaxation

  • help with disturbed sleep and insomnia

  • help calm our nerves and rage

I've created a list of more than 20 herbs that may help you heal [both physically and emotionally] from stillbirth.

  • Skullcap with Passion Flower- these two herbs when taken together help reduce unhelpful 'merry-go-round' / 'hamster wheel' thinking and rumination resulting from trauma.

  • St John's Wort- relaxes and so is used to lift depression.

  • Yarrow- helps your feel safe and emotionally stronger if you've experienced a traumatic event and so is called a 'warrior medicine' or herbal 'armour'.
